About Me

I am Lawrence Weber, a general lover of digital things, Head of Digital at Karmarama, FWA judge and writer, contributor to brand-e and a member of the IPA Digital Business Group.

If you really need to, then you can take a look at my LinkedIn profile or FWA interview for all the detail, but stay here for interesting stuff I find and some stuff of my own.

BTW- I live on an island called West Mersea, hence the oh so clever name of this blog.

The guys at FWA and brand-e are kind enough to let me contribute content, here are links to some FWA things

CLIENT: BBC Worldwide

DATE: August 2010

AGENCY: The Brooklyn Brothers

PROJECT TYPE: Website, Desktop Adobe Air App, Mobile Web

Although reknowned in the UK for its natural history content, BBC Earth- the brand created to resell BBC natural history content worldwide- is often obscured by foreign partner channels that show the content.

Our brief was to create a site full of beautiful snack sized, shareable content, that would engage people who wouldn’t normally watch natural history shows.

We designed an interface which made searching and exploring incredibly easy and rewarding, dropping scientific based search keyword searches for sliders which allowed users to see content on the Warm>Cold, Slow>Fast and Sea>Sky axis.

Our social media outreach campaign pulled in key natural history bloggers and media partners- The Huffington Post for example- and drove traffic back to the site

AWARDS: FWA Site of The Day, Creative Review Annual 2011, Webby Awards 2011- Nominee
